  We are ...

The Lord Mayor's Company

A stage act of many talents. Our repertoire currently includes four 20 to 30 minute send-ups of Shakespearean works. A fifth is on the way as well as several other projects with a renaissance flavor.

Well, it has been awhile since our last update. Our performances at the White Hart Renaissance Festival on it’s second weekend of the 2008 season were very well received and we cannot express our delight in the old friends we saw and the new ones we made. Thank you to all that came out.

Kate has continued to meet with the folks at KCRF and it now appears confirmed that the Smoker in Kansas City, hosted by the LMC again, will be held in a new venue.  As the pub tent (that shall arise like Brigadoon in the next week) is in what is being called the New Market area, we no longer find ourselves between a chapel and an active stage with kids walking by. All this being true the result will be an even bigger and bawdier time than we have ever experienced before.  The dancers have been arranged, music acts contacted, our wits have been sharpened and special guests have been contacting us about limited appearances. So, if you are one of those of legal age and have a bawdy disposition, we invite you to join us there. For more information and to pre-purchase Faire and Smoker tickets you can go to their site, a link to which can be found on our links pages.

Some of you took advantage of our invitation in our last update and we have been delighted in hearing from you. But if you missed it, we’ll let you know once again, for those who have been looking to contact members of the group directly, Alistair continues to monitor our MySpace page that can be found at www.myspace.com/thelordmayorscompany as well as a gmail account at thelordmayorscompany@gmail.com. So if you have questions, commentary, reviews or photographic evidence to share with us, these tools provide an excellent communication venue.

We continue to wish that you come see us perform this year and let us know how we are doing. We hope to see you soon.

ADDED NEWS!

Details still need to be worked out, but it appears that the Lord Mayor’s Company may be making one more festival appearance after the Kansas City Renaissance Festival closes. We do not wish to divulge much but we are excited about the opportunity to be seen at the inaugural event for a new created faire. More news as it becomes available.

Keep checking back here for more updates, photos and videos.
